Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
There’s no Clowney question here. If they aren’t completely sold on the quarterbacks, the Texans can opt to snag a havoc-wreaking mate for J.J. Watt.
St. Louis Rams: Greg Robinson, T, Auburn
The Rams have a great trade commodity here no matter what happens at No. 1, but if they stay put, they can add Robinson’s athletic line prowess.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
Jaguars coach Gus Bradley is a Bortles fan, and his team can stay instate to correct the Blaine Gabbert mistake with a prospect who has the ideal skill set.
Cleveland Browns: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
The Browns won’t force themselves into picking a quarterback here with a second first-rounder in tow. Instead, they’ll get Watkins to give them an electric playmaker opposite Josh Gordon.
Oakland Raiders: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo
The Raiders have Matt Schaub as their near-future quarterback, so they consider putting Mack in Silver and Black to further improve their pass rush.
Atlanta Falcons: Jake Matthews, T, Texas A&M
Many have Khalil Mack going to the Falcons, but if he’s gone, and they don’t trade up, the Falcons can put this rock in front of Matt Ryan.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA
If you have noticed, Lovie Smith is trying to build a defensive championship in Tampa. The dynamic Barr would just add to a fiery front seven.
Minnesota Vikings: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
The presence of Adrian Peterson, Matt Kalil and Cordarrelle Patterson can ease Manziel’s transition, and give the Vikings an exciting upgrade over Christian Ponder.
Buffalo Bills: Taylor Lewan, T, Michigan
There have been some off-field questions raised about Lewan, but the Bills need to get in on this run of nasty edge blockers to help EJ Manuel.
Detroit Lions: Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
The Lions have been burned by Spartans in the past, but tapping into the premier talent of the “No Fly Zone” happens to fill a need in a terrific way.
- Tennessee Titans: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
The Titans should be in the market for a cornerback after losing Alterraun Verner. If Darqueze Dennard is taken, the physical Gilbert would be a fine fallback.
- New York Giants: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
Forget the focus on the drops, the game film speaks for itself. Ebron is mismatch-creating receiver reminiscent of the 49ers’ Vernon Davis.
- St. Louis Rams: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
Evans should be climbing up draft boards because he matches great size (6-5, 231) with impressive speed. It’s about time they got Sam Bradford a guy like this.
- Chicago Bears: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
The Bears have remixed their defensive ends with LaMarr Houston and Jared Allen, but need tackle help after not bringing back Henry Melton.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota
The Steelers need to rebuild their defense in many ways, so why not up front with a disruptive nose tackle built for their 3-4 scheme?
- Dallas Cowboys: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
The Cowboys have defensive line needs, too, but safety has been an issue for a while. Hard-hitting Pryor can play cleanup man.
- Baltimore Ravens: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama
The Ravens plan to move Matt Elam over to strong safety, meaning they need a rangy playmaking free safety to put next to him. Clinton-Dix fits the bill.
- New York Jets: Marqise Lee, WR, USC
The Jets have a new top wideout in Eric Decker to support Michael Vick and Geno Smith, but that’s not enough. The versatile ex-Trojan Lee can line up everywhere.
- Miami Dolphins: Zack Martin, T/G, Notre Dame
The Dolphins landed Branden Albert to shore up left tackle, but they can slide Martin, a tackle for the Irish, right next to him at guard.
- Arizona Cardinals: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
Bridgewater, mainly because of team needs, could make a surprising slide and land in Arizona where he could succeed Carson Palmer.
- Green Bay Packers: C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama
The Packers can go for the best player available anywhere on defense, and they’ve needed an inside thumper of Mosley’s ilk for a while.
- Philadelphia Eagles: Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
They will overlook some of Roby’s shaky game performances to see he’s a fine all-around corner, exactly what they need to back up an underrated front seven.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU
The Chiefs have had their moments with another LSU product, Dwayne Bowe, but it’s time to raise their playmaking quotient around Alex Smith.
- Cincinnati Bengals: Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri
They have known the great value of pass rushers, and in the post-Mike Zimmer era, they need a disruptive edge force to replace Michael Johnson.
- San Diego Chargers: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The secondary is an obvious area of weakness. Fuller is a well-rounded corner with good size and toughness.
- Cleveland Browns: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
The Browns will have a tough choice between Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo here, but they go with Carr to groom behind Brian Hoyer in the short term.
- New Orleans Saints: Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn
The Saints need to keep adding pass rushers to boost the impact of Rob Ryan’s 3-4 defense. Ford would be a nice versatile value pick.
- Carolina Panthers: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
Cooks, with his speed and quickness, seems to be a perfect fit for the Panthers, who need to replace Steve Smith. Cooks can become Cam Newton’s new No. 1.
- New England Patriots: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
You would think a guy nicknamed “Irish Chocolate” would play pretty well in Foxborough. Even with the Vince Wilfork restructure, Nix is a great value here.
- San Francisco 49ers: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The 49ers have needed to revamp their secondary to keep up with their front-seven backbone. Verrett is a natural, fluid corner who can cover all over the field.
- Denver Broncos: Xavier Su’a-Filo, G, UCLA
The Broncos lost Zane Beadles and need to get their interior line reloaded for Peyton Manning. Su’a-Filo has a great combination of power and quickness.
- Seattle Seahawks: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
They could use another receiver now that Golden Tate is gone, and Benjamin just might fall here. Alabama tackle Cyrus Kouandjio is also an option.
