Here's a primer of what will be new when teams take to the track. We'll go in the order the driver and/or team finished the season in the standings. Kevin Harvick Harvick leaves Richard Childress Racing and replaces Ryan Newman at Stewart-Haas Racing. The No. 39 team will change its number to the No. 4. This team also will have a new crew chief. Rodney Childers, formerly crew chief of the Michael Waltrip Racing car driven primarily by Mark Martin and Brian Vickers, replaces Matt Borland, who will continue at SHR as vice president of engineering....

Former NBA Commissioner David Stern led the class of 10 that received its membership blazers on Thursday. The induction gala is Friday night down the street from the hoops shrine. Also in the class of 2014 are former NBA stars Alonzo Mourning and Mitch Richmond and NCAA championship-winning coaches Nolan Richardson of Arkansas and Gary Williams of Maryland. The women’s team from Immaculata College, which won three straight national championships in the 1970s, is also being honored, along with Lithuania star Sarunas Marciulionis....

While the Chargers were expected to select an offensive tackle with the third overall pick, they instead chose Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa. It’s unknown whether San Diego’s decision was influenced by a since-deleted video of Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil — widely considered the likely choice for San Diego at No. 3 — smoking from a bong. Bosa might not be the best pure pass rusher or rush defender in the draft, but offers the best combination of each....

Big-time judo action will return to the Northeastern city of Imphal, Manipur as the 2013 National Sub-Junior Judo Championship commences at the Khuman Lampa Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. The five-day event is being organized by the Manipur Judo Association (MJA) under the auspices of the Judo Federation of India (JFI). The hilly state, with Manipur works minister Kh. Ratankumar Singh as the organising chairman, is straining its last nerve to ensure a smooth conduct of the national event, which assumes a lot of importance as it will serve as a selection trials for boys and girls teams for various international competitions in the future....
