If you want to know what bitter-sweet feels like, ask Jupp Heynckes. Every time the poor fellow wins the Champions League, it turns out he’s out of a job for next season. It happened with Real Madrid in ’98, when after delivering the club’s first European Cup since 1966 he was promptly sacked for a ‘poor’ domestic season. Because, well, the Champions League doesn’t count, see? So, the ex-Borussia Monchengladbach striker roamed from Benfica to Bilbao to Bayern (as an interim manager first, ask Rafa, he’ll tell you what it means) to finally come back to win the Bavarian giants their fifth Champions League title, and also a record breaking league title which they wrapped up basically at the winter break, and threw in some domestic cup success just to be sure....

Kimi Raikkonen came into the race with a chance to close the gap between himself and championship leader Vettel. But his misfortune continued at the Canadian GP as his car faced a lot of problems throughout the race. Qualifying did not go according to plan as a wet qualifying session proved difficult for the Lotus drivers. Grosjean, who came into the race with a 10 place grid penalty, was 19th fastest in Q1 and was knocked out, resulting in the Frenchman starting from the back of the grid....

The Indian men’s basketball team lost their first game of the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship against Bahrain today in the 6,000-seater Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila. The final score was 80-82 in overtime. India are in Group D along with Thailand, Bahrain and Kazakhstan and this was their first group match. The top performers for India were Narender Kumar Grewal (25 points) and Amjyot Singh (16 points, 14 rebounds). Amritpal Singh (14 points, 14 rebounds) and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (12 points) also chipped in for India....

Both the drivers have been out in Yeongam just once last year as Raikonnen missed the inaugural event due to his sabbatical and Grosjean getting his chance to drive only in 2012. The track remains a technical challenge for the engineers as they work on different configurations as the weekend moves on.
